Working in the travel industry and specialising in bespoke, tailor-made trips to Africa with Wayfairer Travel, I am lucky to have the opportunity to visit the continent a number of times a year. This is where the majority of my photography tends to take place. There is nothing quite like the wilderness and thrill of a safari and in travelling to the continent more and more I have seen my photography interests develop.

I came to work in the travel industry more by accident than by design having undertaken a degree in Conservation Biology and Ecology and thereafter a masters by research degree focusing on Wildlife Disease Management. During the last year of my degree I visited Africa for the first time, on a two-week field trip to South Africa.

A couple of years later, I saw a volunteer position advertised that involved studying habituated baboon troops in Namibia and I jumped at the chance to head back for a few months. There began a more in-depth relationship with the continent and I have been back many times since, not only to Namibia but also Botswana, Zimbabwe and Tanzania.

As a result of my travels, I have been able to work as a major contributor and featured photographer on the latest revisions of the Botswana and the Namibia Bradt guidebooks.

A number of my images are for sale through my Picfair page. I will be continually adding to this page so watch this space.
